Cant Wait!

Hey everybody! Just checking in before the trip! You would be really surprised at how much effort goes into preparing for this trip. We have to read a pretty dry novel called the Ornament of the World, written by María Rosa Menocal, which takes you on a factual ride through the religious tolerance of the 3 main religious groups of the world, Islam, Judaism, and Christianity in medieval Spain. The "ornament of the world" refers to what the people of the time called Cordoba, written by a tenth century Saxon writer named Hroswitha. Already sounds pretty dry huh?? I was thinking the exact same thing :) We were assigned to read the book, and then fill out a packet on what we did over it. 81 questions overall! Crazy! Lately we have been discussing and going over the questions in the packet, and memorizing key terms, vocal, characters and dates for a TEST tomorrow, or today, for our friends over seas on the other side of the world! Our teachers, guides, and overall protectors, Sr. Longoria, or Profe, Sra. Soliz, and our math teacher Mr. Connor, will be watching over us the entire way, and I think they are hinting at some sort of test or quiz during the long plane flight over to Hispania, as the Romans called it. We are basically a day and a half from heading out, so I will be keeping in touch the whole way, including on the plane and of course around our new home for the next 2 weeks, Spain!
